Shout out to Joel and Paul. I can in fact confirm they caught a fish today on the section of river just a bit downstream of Little Winnibigoshish Lake. I was there to see it.
I only paddled about 15 miles today. I spent about 4 hours from 3pm to 7pm waiting out a thunderstorm underneath the US Highway 2 overpass.
It was a good chance to catch up on my mac and cheese and tuna supply. It’s also a sign the River is moving faster than a week ago. At multiple points today I was able to hit 5 mph with a combination of peddling and current. The current in many areas today was 1-2mph which is a welcome increase from the 0.1mph I was getting most of the first 100 miles.
If someone knows Paul or Joel, let me know who is whom!
Joe not Joel is holding the fishing pole
Paul is in the red shirt
Joe is on the left and Paul is on the right?
It was fun to chat with you on Monday at Schoolcraft State Park. Good luck on your long journey. I cannot wait to read your daily blog.
Emmanuel , do you have a way of us tracking your progress via GPS?
