You’re Not Done Yet? (Van Conversion Photos from Start to 75%)

Nope. I’m not done yet.
When my idea for a tiny home on wheels was first conceived I looked something like this:

The man in the photo above, circa summer 2016, had no job and no cars (that’s right “cars”, not “cares”). He had a few cares, but that didn’t stop him from buying a van. After moving back in with his parents he became a car salesman. Living paycheck to paycheck he began building his tiny home on wheels.

The man writing tonight’s blog post has three cars (of varying utility), van included (long story). He’s now in engineering sales, no longer living with his parents, but he’s still living paycheck to paycheck.

Tonight, with a pen and notepad I took a mental walk-through the van with a goal of estimating the cost to finish this thing:

Those numbers add up to $3,500 I don’t have. But that’s been the story all along.

Since the propane system was successfully installed I’ve been floating around 75% complete. To push the van to 95% I need to complete the bathroom, water system, electrical system. If I had two uninterrupted weeks and a check for $3,500 I could wrap this project up with a bow on top. That will not be the case.

Survive and advance. While you wait patiently, the following pictures will walk you through the build to get to this point.
