World class car sales expert Grant Cardone lost an undercover price negotiation to a car buyer because of one simple reason: desperation.
In this video I break down a clip of Undercover Billionaire Season 2 where Grant Cardone tries to sell a used car to a stranger who called in response to his ad.
Grant has all the experience and ability in the world, why did he lose this negotiation?
Without giving away too much detail about the show (which I thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend), Grant, Monique Idlett-Mosley, and Elaine Culotti are dropped off in a small city they’ve never been to and given just 90 days to turn $100 and an old used car into a million dollars. Again, the show is worth the watch to see how these established entrepreneurs seek out and leverage the resources around them to try to achieve this lofty goal.
Early on Grant decides to sell the car he’s been given for money. And because of the context of the situation Grant isn’t able to negotiate in the way he’s been used to all these years. He’s desperate.
As I always say, your ability to negotiate is proportional to your ability to walk away. And Grant simply can’t walk away.
Watch the video in this post to see what happens.
What would you have done in this situation?
